About Viral Nurse
I started ViralNurse.com and my blog, Infectious Rants, to provide timely health information for individuals seeking or needing to understand healthcare in the midst of chaos; when a loved one is sufferring, you now have a place to turn. I am a Registered Nurse, a freelance writer, and a researcher with over 14 years of hospital nursing experience. Throughout my career I have worked with the critically, chronically ill, and mentally ill.
Presently, I perform Acute Dialysis and Therapeutic Apheresis, working at UCSD Medical Center and Fresenius Medical Center North America. Using the Dialysis machine, I am able to remove fluid, toxins, and balance electrolytes. I also provide Therapeutic Apheresis Therapy for the patients' with an autoimmune disease, exchanging plasma proteins with fresh frozen plasma or 5% Albumin per physician prescription.
Other experience includes:
I enjoy researching infectious diseases and chronic illnesses in order to ease suffering. I continually educate myself so that I can make patients and their families' lives easier and to help simplify information they need when deciding their healthcare needs.
I hope to be your advocate—at your side when you need one. My mission is to improve the quality of life for those people that suffer from diseases, chronic illnesses, or autoimmune diseases of any kind; helping families to understand the nature of the beast.
